Aluminum experts since 1986

Mission

REMAC’s mission is to use its extensive expertise in the use of aluminum for the development of innovative structural applications.

Vision

To be recognized as a world leader in the manufacture of aluminum structures, towers and pylons.

Our Journey

1986

Foundation

André and Jean Poulin founded REMAC with the mission of offering innovative solutions with products and services specialized in the design and fabrication of steel and aluminum structures. Over the years and through diversification, REMAC has become a leader in the fabrication and installation of structures, walkways, bridges and docks, with an emphasis on aluminum, a light, versatile and corrosion-resistant material.

1999

Pyramide des Ha! Ha!

After several years of perfecting its production methods and having received several awards and honors from the region’s and Quebec’s economic authorities, REMAC was awarded an important contract to manufacture the Pyramide des Ha! Ha! monument commemorating the 1996 Saguenay Flood, located in the La Baie district of Saguenay.

REMAC Aluminum Towers (Pylons)

In response to a problem of corrosion in a saline environment (seaside) that caused the collapse of some cellular transmission towers REMAC was contacted by L’Aide-Tic to design a tower that would be corrosion resistant, robust and durable. The mandate was to design and manufacture a self-supporting 80-foot aluminum transmission tower that would meet the same standards as steel towers. This tower must also be able to be installed near residences with a design that allows for a smaller footprint.

After several months of R&D in partnership with the SVA (Société de la Vallée de l’Aluminium), the University of Sherbrooke, the CEE-UQAC, Rio Tinto, and other partners, the first aluminum tower of this type in the world was certified (CSA-S37-18) and installed in the summer of 2021 in the Grands Boisés district of Saint-Honoré.

Shortly after this first tower was delivered and installed, REMAC signed an important contract with the private firm Digital Ubiquity for the design and manufacturing of 6 telecommunication towers of 100 feet (810 Pa) the highest level of resistance required in Canada.
